Healing the Collective
Group Ceremony Services
Group Ceremony is a powerful catalyst for healing, as it offers us the opportunity to come together consciously and compassionately to affirm our commitment to each other and to the Earth. Ceremony is a path of coming into right relationship, or Ayni. When we walk in Ayni, we see the quality of our love and compassion reflected back to us in all things. Group ceremony creates a nurturing container to stimulate the natural healing that lives within each one of us, and to call on the Earth and Cosmos to support our loving intention.
When we do not receive transformational ceremony and rites of passage, we do not have access to the natural energy that could support our path as adult women, as adult men, as married couples, as families and as communities. Each rite creates the space to move forward in a genuine way, with certainty and with the whole Universe with us. It is never too late to receive Rites of Initiation or to hold sacred ceremony.
This ceremony, from the Andean Q’ero tradition in which Juliet is initiated, is meant to honor Pachamama (The Earthly, Divine Feminine) and the Apus (Mountain Spirits, Divine Masculine). An offering is created by crafting a beautiful mandala with a variety of materials meant to nourish: flowers, herbs, stones, leaves, candies and grains. The mandala is infused with prayers of gratitude, intentions of light and requests for blessings. The mandala is then wrapped and offered to a fire, buried in the earth or released to a river. Despachos can be called in for a variety of purposes, such as blessing the birth of a baby, moving in to a new home or business, to honor the natural rites of passage in life, to honor the death of a loved one, to mark transitions on the Wheel of the Year, to restore harmony between two people, a family or community, to bless farmland or a garden, or any time when there is a need to affirm or restore harmony with Spirit.
When going through a familial healing or celebration process, the flow of vital energy is not expressly tended to and restored. When this happens we live with a legacy of unhealed familial wounds, with loss unacknowledged and grief held at bay. In the multifaceted family healing process, we might also miss celebrating the genuine growth and renewal that is unfolding. This ceremony is a beautiful addition to family counseling and as a way for living family members to gather to honor and release the legacy of generations past.
Womb Renewal Ceremony
The importance of honoring the Divine Feminine, and the sacred womb space in women, cannot be overstated. This beautiful ceremony combines guided journey meditation, purification and blessing of the womb through sacred sound and plant medicine and transmission of the ‘Rite of the Womb’ to protect and activate the womb in its role as the source of our wisdom, strength and creative force as women.
Rites of Passage
In its deepest form, ceremony creates a permanent psychological, physiological and spiritual shift from one stage of life to the next. It is a way for the community to reflect to the individual that a new station in life, with its rights and responsibilities, has been acquired. In our modern times, we have no genuine rites of passage. The result is that we find ourselves in spiritual limbo, entering into new roles of life without releasing the old. This creates blockage and impasse in our energy systems and leads to internal and external discord.
Juliet offers gentle and profound ceremony to honor and bless all stages of the life cycle. There are Rites for the birth of new babies, girls who are passing over the threshold from girlhood to womanhood and for couples who are committing their lives to one another. Also important are Divorce Rites. Divorce, unfortunately, still has so much shame and stigma surrounding it. By routing our death, grief and rebirth through this ceremony we powerfully acknowledge it as a Rite that many grow and mature through. Divorce Rites can be offered to the couple or can be provided for individuals. Lastly, there are sacred Rites offered to those who are ready to pass on from this life. Death Rites create safe passage for the soul as it departs from the body, allowing it to move on to the next world with joy, confidence and peace.
There are Ceremonial Rites that Juliet chooses not to facilitate. Boys transitioning to manhood also are in need of the affirmation and acknowledgement provided by Rites, however these spaces are best held by men in the family or community. Likewise one of the most important Rites in our time are Croning Rites, that bless and honor the menopausal transition for women. While Juliet is delighted to play a support role in the creation and enactment of these ceremonies, having not yet crossed this threshold herself she prefers to allow a woman initiated in this passage of life to take the lead
